AND IT WENT LIKE THIS
On Thursday, Kanye West presented his long-awaited Yeezy x Adidas collection during the first day of New York Fashion Week. Fans had been looking forward to the collaboration for months, and expectations were therefore high. Especially since it is always a big surprise what the rebellious rapper comes up with. It is far from Kanye's first step on the fashion path, but his success has always been variable. For example, he had collabs with Nike or A.P.C. sell out within 24 hours, but his own prêt-à-porter collection was a major flop.
This time, Mr. West presented us models clad in what seemed like full body tights, combined with camouflage jackets that we have seen Kim in lately.
Front row
As we are used to from him, Kanye left little to chance and had gathered all his famous friends to support him. We rarely saw such an impressive A-list lineup in the front row. Wife Kim, who was dressed from head to toe in Yeezy x Adidas, had her ample derrière positioned between Anna Wintour and Beyoncé (the second time in a week that Bey and Kim were photographed together) and Jay Z, Puff Daddy, Rihanna, and Alexander Wang were also found side by side. A telling detail is that Justin Bieber had to settle for a spot in the second row.
North
As mentioned earlier, Kanye left little to chance, but daughter North he did not have under control during the show. Of course, the rapper/designer wanted to see his princess in the front row, but Nori was less satisfied with this. The toddler started crying loudly halfway through the show and did not stop until mother Kim took her outside. Much to the displeasure of front row neighbor Anna Wintour, who remained stoic outside but undoubtedly cursed the scene inside.
Kendall Jenner
The show marked the catwalk debut to KUWTK-baby Kylie. The 17-year-old half-sister of Kim walked as one of the 50 models. Kendall, the family's supermodel, stayed in the background for this occasion and sat next to sister Khloe and mother Kris in the front row.
