Soft lacquered
The easiest way to give your wardrobe a summer swing is to adjust your nail polish. And this summer we're going for pastel. The mint color can stay, but the coral color can be set aside for now. Still very summery, but not a trending topic in beautyland.
When you think of pastel, you might think of a bit of Easter, a bit of restraint and a bit of a dull image, but hey, there are so many advantages and dullness is not one of them. And I'll list those five advantages for you, so you can enter summer neatly and colorfully.
Pretty pastel
The nails at Kenzo, Michael Kors, and Desigual were all lacquered in the pastel range.. I say range because they didn't just use one color; they simply combined multiple colors and that works really well. You can go for graphic shapes (think half moons) or for a kind of blending that mimics a softened disco dip.
Browner
With pastel on your hands or feet, everything looks a lot browner. Really handy if you haven't seen much sun yet. It all seems a bit healthier.
Procrastination is allowed
If you don't feel like doing your nails one time, which I totally understand, then it's not a necessity at all. Because chipped nail polish is hardly noticeable with pastel, as pastel is close to the color of your natural nails. Whoop whoop, you can just postpone it for a few days.
Well-groomed
Besides looking incredibly summery, your hands also look guaranteed well-groomed. The point is that you really have to take the time for it. With light colors, unkempt cuticles and ridges stand out much more. Applying cuticle oil, filing well (in one direction) and a base coat on your nails solves a lot. And, work in thin layers. Especially with pastel colors. Then you get the best effect without air bubbles and without streaks.
Matches every outfit
Seems like a clear story. Of course, pastel colors go well with everything. You keep the nails in the background, so an outfit gets more attention, but they complement each other.
