Fake it till you make it
Just last week I shared my love for Benefit Cosmetics. The look of these products belong in a boutique candy store. They are just so sweet and the quality is really very good. Every second somewhere in the world a little packet of Benefit’s They’re Real! Push-Up Liner is flying over the counter. What can I say, my love is deeply dedicated, and to me that is completely logical.
The They’re Real collection includes an inky black mascara and eye-liner. The name says it all and it clearly lives up to its claim. With a single brush stroke of mascara on your eyelashes it looks as though you have taken hours to put on your fake lashes. As for the eyeliner, with just a clean little line it is so black and tight that it could be mistaken for a tattooed line. I’m totally serious. It is all very real and all very easy. Even the biggest klutz, you know the ones, with the smudgy mascara and wobbly lines, can create the most beautiful and tight results. That name, those looks; it just works.
But now, sweet ladies, here comes the great news. The They’re Real line is now available in multiple colors. To be honest, Black Ink has always been my thing, but I know enough women out there who would love to go a little wilder and turn their beauty look into a bit of a party. The mascaras can now be found in brown and blue, and the eye-liners come in a range of colors from blue, purple, green and brown. It is up to you. Want a playful, exciting, daring or carefree look? Choose and experience it for yourself.
The fact that this product works, is clear. This is what a satisfied beauty editor has to say about it: The They’re Real has made me understand that applying an eye-liner is really not that difficult and the mascara knows that my little eyes need to be given a little wake-up call on a Sunday morning. If my experience is not enough to persuade you, well “the people” have tested and spoken. 91% were ecstatic with the result and 84% said their eyes appeared bigger. Oh, and a little extra perk, it’s totally waterproof and it sits on your eyes for 24 hours.
Here comes even more great eye candy. Think color, think big, think fashion, think David LaChapelle. David has added his sexy, surreal and colorful style to give the line a makeover which will be sure to get those babies flying over the counter even faster. On hearing this I thought ‘Wow’, but actually I found the making-of video, which you can see below, even cooler. Julie, the PR manager of Benefit Cosmetics, was just here at our office telling us all about these sweet little products and also tipped us off about this film. They had only one day to film and they took from 9 till 4 to build the set. Apparently everyone was a little nervous on set, especially when 3 o’clock rolled around and they hadn’t taken a single shot yet. At 5 o’clock the first photo was taken and then before they new it, the last. That’s how it works with such a craftsman.
So there you have it. Forget about fiddling around with your tweezers, stumbling with the falsies, messing around with your old eyeliner. With this mascara and eyeliner combo you can just get straight to the point. It takes far less time and the results are more beautiful and more real. Fake it till you make it suddenly gets push aside.
