Zomerhaar
– These looks work for you all summer long –
The summer should actually be as stress-free as possible but hey, nothing could be further from the truth. At our editorial office, it has caused quite a bit of outfit stress (because what to wear at 33 degrees when you actually want to spend the whole day in a bikini) and how do we do our hair. Because the undone beach look is nice, but when the sweat droplets cause drenched locks, no one is happy. So how do we do it? Well, like this.
Wet look
It's not that difficult. The big advantage is that you don't have to wash your hair for a few days, and you can just easily brush it back. It keeps the hair out of your face (big plus) and it can't go anywhere because of the wax. Also nice. How do you do it? See here.
Twist it
For those who aren't very handy at making genius braids on themselves, twisting was invented. Simple: you twist your hair. Just spray some beach spray in beforehand – preferably a nourishing one too – because it makes the hair a bit stiffer, which helps it stay in place without a ton of bobby pins.
Top knot
My favorite, you see, because it's super easy and actually always looks good and it takes just a second of work. The big trick is of course to make it as messy as possible without it falling off your head. The tip from our Elles, she has made the perfect imperfect bun for me before, is to secure it as tightly as possible on your head and then pull out all the strands. And especially run your hands through your hair, because it could use some movement.
Braid
Braids always work well. You can be sure that all the hair is out of your face and stays that way, and it also looks very stylish. You can do it in different ways. For the advanced braider: hold your head upside down and braid it upwards. You end with a bun or ponytail and this way you add something extra to the style. Not so handy? You can also make loose braids and secure them with pins. Summerproof guaranteed.
