BEAUTY THINGS YOU DO WHEN YOU MEET A NEW LOVE
Stuck in a love that has lasted 7 years or completely single? We can probably catch you ‘walking out the door with wet hair’, chipped nail polish or forgetting makeup routines. Well, that never happens when you just meet someone and are in the dating phase. That beauty ritual suddenly takes much longer. And here's why. You probably recognize it.
1. The perfect hair-do
He definitely won't catch you with wet hair walking out the door or the beachy look you have when you come bouncing out of the sea. No, in the beginning, you'll spend a lot of time in front of the mirror to blow-dry your hair into the perfect curl, watch tutorials to finally get the fishtail braid right, or twist the top knot together. Look, it has to look like you did it all effortlessly, but appearances can be deceiving. We all know that.
2. Spraying scents in places you never have before
A scent does a lot for you. It can reveal how you feel, who you are, or who you want to be. So it's quite necessary to pay good attention to that. And if you've just met someone, you'll probably spray it in places you never did before. You never know what the day will bring you.
3. Shaving
It's quite a thing. You want to greet someone smooth and shiny, and stubble or full bushes are not nice for unexpected visits. So suddenly, shaving becomes a code word that gets neatly included in the morning routine every morning.
4. Do the Sleeping Beauty
Sleeping Beauty just slept with mascara on, so if she gets kissed awake, at least she steps out of bed looking good. You do that too now. Bet that in the evening you really leave a hint of mascara on your lashes, you haven't completely wiped off your foundation, and your lips still get a layer of balm? Ideally, you actually do nothing at all. You sleep with makeup on, admit it.
5. Lichaamscheck
You wake up every morning with the 7 minute work-out and are also frantically applying to keep everything shiny and soft. Suddenly, body lotions, fixing products, and concealers appear that you previously just ignored. You probably also (really, we have it from a reliable single source) suddenly start shaping your boobies to make everything look a bit bigger.
6. Toenails
Suddenly, you're busy with it: updating your toenails. Where you used to have chipped polish or didn't even look at your feet, it's now a daily activity.
7. Sneaky spots
Sounds more exciting than it is, but you probably place some standard beauty products in the bathroom or in the kitchen cabinet. You can quickly touch up when you refill the wine or take a nervous pee.
