KIKI'S DIET DIARY: ‘WHAT? ONLY APPLES?’

“Good luck with your Apple Day, Kiki,” I hear my dietitian say. Yup, I really have started a structured weight loss regime since ‘eating healthier’ on my own was quite, uh, difficult.

On the advice of our MaisonPR friend Mireille, I started with NewFysic this week, a diet that looks at the individual. How you live, whether you move, and your physical characteristics are important for your personal nutrition plan. The most intense part of the diet is the first 24 hours, or rather, the infamous Apple Day, where you eat only apples until 4 PM. Your breakfast? One or two apples. Your lunch? Same. Snack? What do you think? So that. To be honest, I was quite scared of that scary Apple Day.

This weekend was therefore the last weekend in which I could stuff all kinds of food into my mouth without any restrictions. Pancakes, gourmet meals, candy, chocolates, believe me: everything has passed by. So much so that on Monday morning I suddenly looked forward to the Apple Day. When I wake up, I decide to work in bed with my laptop on my lap for a bit. When I wake up from my MacBook trance, it's suddenly 12 o'clock. SHIT, MY APPLES! I quickly eat two apples and at 2 PM one more. The idea was really that I would eat about six or seven before 4 PM, but that was already not going to happen quickly. I end up with five apples. I thought that was quite impressive of myself.

Around 5 PM I get a Pick-Me-Up. That's quite a treat after all those damn apples. And then finally: dinner. Normal dinner (at least, according to the ‘healthy recipe book‘ of course). My boyfriend decides to support me and cooks whole grain pasta with a few shrimp, lemon zest, cherry tomatoes, and arugula. And it was delicious! Maybe, just maybe I can get used to this. On Friday I have my first weigh-in, which really works as a mega trigger because MAN, I'm being monitored like an Obese candidate. Then we'll see if the regime has already affected my fat. Dieting, no one said it would be easy... I'll keep you updated.
