Don't get me wrong, but summer and winter really require a different approach in your beauty ritual needs. Your skin changes, the weather is different, you get a tan on your face. So you can definitely turn your toiletry bag upside down to shuffle some items into the pantry and make room for new ones. Everything to make your summer skin look its best.
Switch creams
In winter, your skin needs moisture, so you're probably using thicker creams to really fill it up. In summer, creams are still important, but you probably don't feel like thick applications on your face due to the weather. Opt for gel-like textures. They are light, fresh, and often have a cooling effect.
Foundation away
Your foundations can also be replaced. Your skin is lighter in winter than in summer, so it might just be the wrong color. Or it might be too thick. Pay attention to that. You can foundation thin it out with a facial serum or mix it with another color to achieve the perfect shade. Or replace everything with a nice BB cream. It's light, it's nice, and often protects against the sun.
Nail polishes
Where you might have been attached to deep reds and browns this winter, now a much cheerier color can be applied, you know. Pastel is the way to go, so ensure light and fresh on the nails. A nice point is that your hands look a lot tanner. A nice bonus.
From blush to bronzer
Well okay, that's not entirely true. You can keep the blush, but as an addition, a good amount of bronzer can now be used. Apply it to the areas where the sun hits your face, then you look a bit tanner and everything comes out much nicer.
Mascara verplaatsen
Maybe you already use waterproof mascara in winter (because of rain, because of a runny face, so panda eyes), but if you don't have it yet, then this is the moment. Actually, you should stock up on quite a bit of waterproof makeup, because with a little sun and a little heat, makeup easily disappears from your face.
Fixeer het
A good fixing spray is quite handy. Maybe you use it in winter too, but in summer it's really a must. Because as mentioned, makeup really disappears from your face and goes everywhere. With a good fixer, everything stays nicely in place. Also nice is that a fixing spray works very cooling.
