WHAT SHOULD YOU EAT AND DRINK

if you're feeling a bit under the weather?

It's going around. One after another starts sniffling and coughing, and sometimes you even need to lie down for a bit. I am always the one who gets it when it's going around. Then I always get to join in with the virus. When you're sick, you're really sick, but if you feel it coming that you might catch a bad cold or that you're feeling a bit under the weather, then you need to be extra kind to yourself. I'll tell you what to do and what to eat and drink. Maybe you'll manage to fend off that flu after all.

– Don't drink alcohol and go to bed early.

– Dress warmly, very warmly.

– Fill yourself up with vitamin C, you'll need it and it boosts your immunity a bit. You can buy pills at the drugstore, but also stock up on plenty of oranges and grapefruits.

– Drink liters of chamomile tea, possibly with honey if you feel a sore throat coming on.

– I always feel better from chicken soup. If you're feeling a bit sluggish, you need salt. I mean fresh soup, okay? So maybe you can give your mom a sweet look. She really makes the best.

– I like to make this miracle tea from Rens Kroes. I always feel great from it.

– Eat plenty of vegetables. You can hardly get enough of them. For example, eat that together with a fatty fish in the evening. That will give you a bit of energy.

– Citrosan is also sacred for when you feel the flu coming on. So make sure you always have that at home.

– Last and perhaps most important: just let it be for a while and take the time to recover. If you don't do that, you'll be feeling under the weather for a few weeks before you know it, and that's no fun for anyone. So: heat up the house, put on your warmest socks, nestle on the couch, start your favorite series, brew a big pot of tea, and give yourself some rest!
