6x new hotspots

that will open soon in

Amsterdam

Boys boys, I just can't sleep anymore. And yes, that's partly due to that runny nose that just won't go away (summer, where are you?). But it's even more because of one email I received in my inbox. My fellow avobuddy wanted to tell me that a real avocado restaurant will soon open in Amsterdam. And since then, my nights have been disturbed by flashes of avocado creations on avocado bread, triple-decker avocado burgers, crispy yet creamy fries with avocado mayonnaise, and a dessert of velvety white chocolate/avocado mousse. No idea, I haven't seen a menu yet, but doesn't that all sound heavenly? In short, The Avocado Show, do me a favor, put an end to those ever-deepening dark circles and open those doors. I am so ready for you.

Besides The Avocado Show, which is the name of the new place to be, several other new hotspots will open in our city in the coming weeks. Who's coming with me?

Miss Louisa Coffee & Beignets

Oh dear, oh dear, trouble is on its way. Soon a new hotspot will open around the corner from me where I will probably be found often on Sunday mornings. At Miss Louisa on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, you can go for your daily shot of caffeine starting this spring. And not only that, you can also get homemade beignets at this new to-go concept. Yes, I will just say goodbye to my good intentions. Maybe also something for Monday morning. Because it just happens to be on my route to work. So I score quite a few points with Elke.

Mastino V

Maybe you already know them, the pizzas from Mastino V. They will soon open a new location on Bilderdijkstraat. Yes, vegan friends, this is where you need to be for your pizza with cheese. Yes, really. I’m just mentioning a pesto pizza with homemade tomato sauce, cherry tomatoes, arugula, and pine nuts or just all the way with four cheeses. And no animal cheese is involved. Eating a pizza on the couch? No problem + Deliveroo delivers your comfy food almost to your couch...

So guys, when can I prepare the guest bed? I say: rolling home...

The Lebanese Sajeria

Okay, I'm playing dirty. This hotspot has actually already opened recently. But I just have to share this with you because I am really a sucker for Lebanese cuisine. I inherited that from the time I lived in London, where this cuisine is hipper than hip. Unfortunately, we Dutchies stick to a falafel sandwich, pita with hummus, and a stray bowl of muhammara from the Appie. This Lebanese hotspot around the corner from the 9 Streets changes that. At The Lebanese Sajeria, you can get to know many more delights. They make their own manouches: a flatbread filled with mint, cucumber, and tomato. Or with heavenly za’atar and flavorful halloumi. Boys boys, is it already mealtime?

De Biertuin Prinsengracht

Yes, this hotspot from the East will soon open its doors in the center as well. As you all know by now, I have three brothers. One of them has a career behind him at Heineken. So guys, when can I prepare the guest bed? I say: rolling home...

Escobar

Employees of Ron Blaauw will soon open a new Spanish restaurant in the old music venue De Badcuyp. Ron himself has taken care of the menu, so it can only be that you'll be licking your fingers at that homemade aioli. Where can I make a reservation? Not with a date in any case, ha!

Bed and Buffet

Who says you can't be a tourist in your own city? You should pay attention. Soon opening in Weteringdwarsstraat: Bed and Buffet. And if the beds here are as good as the smoked salmon with lentils and the poached egg from sister Bufet of Odette, then I will regularly fall asleep here.

Speaking of hotspots: have you ever taken a close look at the shake & stir techniques of the guys from the Pulitzer while waiting? I mean: if we have to wait a bit longer, then at least enjoy a good Pornstar Martini. Ladies, when are we going again?
