Proven: this is what you need to do in your twenties to be a millionaire in your thirties

Who doesn't drool at the thought of private yachts, 36 different Chanel bags, and sitting on a different white beach every month? Time for action... It's time to chase your luxury dreams.
At least, if you approach it smartly. Because, if you do a few things in your twenties, it could very well be that you are a millionaire in your thirties. And you can island hop until you get bored. Or have a Vespa in every color.

Anyway, here's how to tackle it:

Rule no. 1: ensure multiple sources of income. Look, you won't get rich by doing nothing. So you get to work – because money doesn't just come flying in. But remember that you can have more than 1 job (in paid employment). Make sure you do multiple gigs at the same time – that busy schedule will bring you so many advantages. Because the more clients you have, the more salary. The more salary, the more you can save and invest (check #2).

Building up great wealth. That sounds a bit scary, but in the end, you won't become a millionaire just from your salary. You pay for your daily life with that. It's necessary as a stepping stone to your great wealth: you can easily build this up by investing in stocks or real estate, like your own house. That saves you thousands of euros in wasted rent. And if you sell your property or shares for a profit – then you've become rich while you sleep. Sounds good, right? So: smart saving & smart investing = cashing in.

However, it is important: don't spend too much money in between. Yes, that's difficult and no, it's not always fun. But it's effective if you want to lead a très chic life in a few years. Holiday pay, a bonus, or suddenly an extra gig? Set your money aside and save it for other (or poorer) moments. You can really do without that one top. Really. Think further.

Sell a bunch of your stuff that you hardly use or take on an extra job for, say, one evening a week. Don't expect to make a lot of money from taking pictures of your lattes between now and next week. Be realistic and set achievable goals. It's fun to come up with your own little business, but where's the earning model? Don't just randomly spend your hard-earned cents on nonsense – or on silly, unworked plans. Think creatively and think with your head, and before you know it, there will be more zeros in your bank account.

Well, if you start today... Who knows, you might be the one laughing the hardest in 2027. In your Gucci shirt with your own hairdresser on a tropical island, yes. Drool...
