The color of your eyes determines whether you drink a lot or a little wine
Do you have blue or dark eyes? It says a lot about how many glasses of wine you pour on the weekend. And whether you often wake up with a head like a bowling ball, yes.
It turns out that the lighter the color of your eyes is, the more likely you are to love many glasses of vino.
Blue eyes
Scientists at the University of Vermont researched the connection between someone's eye color and how much this person loved alcoholic beverages. They checked this with thousands of participants. And yes, people with blue eyes are at the highest risk for a wild night. Other studies also confirm this fact: having blue eyes equals lively evenings with lots of drinks. The lighter the eyes, the more your DNA is ready for a toast. And conversely: people with brown eyes drink the least number of glasses of white or red. And they also don't often have a hangover, no.
Fortunately, these thirsty people with blue eyes also know when to perform. Another American study shows that people with blue eyes are generally more likely to be highly educated. And have a higher IQ. A social life and brains during the week... Now that's a win-win. Cheers.
FACTS
– In the Netherlands, blue eye color is the most common, which is quite surprising. Brown is the most common worldwide.
– In Groningen and Friesland, more people have blue eyes than in the other provinces.
– In Estonia, almost everyone has blue eyes: no less than 99 percent of the population. Whether more alcohol is automatically consumed there is another question...
