These were our totally Amayzine highlights from 2017
Blast that new year in, people, we are ready for it! And with a new year, of course, comes a moment to look back. What were our totally Amayzine crème de la crème moments from 2017? I asked your editors before they eagerly indulged in the bubbles. Because you know: what happens in 2017, stays in 2017…
May-Britt: “There are fashion parties and fashion parties. Sometimes it’s in and out, a little air kiss here, a nod there and everyone drifts away again. But there are also parties where you are lifted out of reality, look at each other and think: is this real? and you still buzz in your room for hours. The Chanel party in July (the masterful perfume presentation of Gabrielle in Paris) was such an evening. From dancing with Pharrell and Katy Perry to having my feet in the sand of Wijk aan Zee and everything in between, that made 2017 a year with a golden edge.”
Lilian: “My crème de la crème moments from 2017? Definitely the launch of our very first Amayzine print magazine, the Runway Issue. But also Milan Fashion Week, where I got to celebrate the fashion party between the most beautiful shows and coolest fashion people in February with Kiki and in September with Elke. And of course Paris, where team Amayzine jumped into four Renaults for an unforgettable roadtrip and the coolest editors shoot ever. And and and, let’s not forget the brace adventure of May and me. With the highlight being our ‘happy-brace-can-come-out-day’. Bye stupid teeth obsession, hello big fat smile. Okay, and then one last thing to wrap up the year: I bought a house. And not just any house: our dream house! 2018, I’m excited for you. I say: copy, paste away. Although, let’s leave that tightening at the ortho in 2017, deal?”
Simone: “Phew, there were quite a few. I had a date with my biggest idol Jamie Oliver and sat at the table with kitchen hero Yotam Ottolenghi. But the biggest goosebumps moment was not long ago. In the most expensive month of 2017 (is there ever a right moment?) I finally bought my first Chanel bag. And do you know how good it feels when you’ve worked your butt off for it?”
Elke: “Last year I immediately knew what my highlight of 2016 was, but this year I’m a bit in doubt. I think that’s a good sign, because it means I’ve done quite a lot of fun things, right? In terms of fun activities, the Magnum party with the Amayzine team is definitely among them, because I think you have to have a night out with your colleagues at least once. F or the first time to Milan with Lil for Fashion Week is also high on the list, London with Simoon because it’s just more fun to be in a city with a sort of 'local', the moment I got to take my mom to work toNoordwijk , our nomination for the Mercurs, not one, but three print launches,, to Paris for Rock en Seine, … I told you: there are many. This kid is a happy one.””Shall I top it off then?”
Kiki: “My trip to Thailand was one to never forget and I got an invitation to go on a Who is the Mole?-trip to Portland. Absolutely a bucket list moment. And how could I forget: the (and my application that got me in the newspaper and on the radio), the dances with Carlos at the office, lying in bed with Expedition Robinson babbles , the interview with the über-hot pregnant Kaj Gorgels and Marieke Elsinga, and I ended up on TV twice with my Ex Rob fetish on Eilandpraat. Man man, what an adventure. My Instagram saw the biggest growth ever this year and as a cherry on top, I bought Chantal Janzen my very first house with my love. AND THE MORTGAGE IS JUST FINALIZED, WOOHOO. So, the new year? Bring it on with that treat. I want you!” 2018, you hear it: we are ready for it. We probably won’t find you so nice tomorrow morning, but it seems that Simone is coming with some gooooooood hangover tips to survive the first day of the year. I uh, am already reaching for that delivery button.”
Have fun tonight, dear Amayzers, and see you in shiny 2018!.
