This is where you need to be in Amsterdam

Thank the lord, hallelujah, it’s Friday. Yes I know, we have our buddy Theodore (for the insiders) who tells us every weekend where we should go. Don’t worry, he will just do that later. But don’t think that only Theo knows what to do with your free hours. I also know a number of nice spots where you can have a splendid evening. So, shall we take a tour of Amsterdam?

Amsterdam-Centrum/De Pijp

19:00 hours You start your evening at Libertine Café Café. It’s new and already hip and you are of course super hip too, so this place is screaming your name. You don’t need to reserve, there’s plenty of drinks to warm you up for the rest of the evening (lucky you if you’re not doing the dry January craze and it’s from top hospitality entrepreneur Casper Reinders. Need I say more?

21:30 hours It’s still way too early to dive into the clubs, so: it’s snack time. Hop on your bike and head towards the Pijp. And no, it’s really not that far, but okay okay, you can also order that Abel. Lazy bum. Where are you going? GlouGlou is your destination. Enjoy some wine, because wine is good for your figure. 23:30 hours YASS, time to start dancing, because after enough glasses of wine you’re giving Jennifer Lopez a run for her money, because you (think you) can dance like the best. Kopstootbar it is.

02:00 hours And on we go to Disco Dolly, because you’re far from done dancing. And it’s always so much fun there.

Amsterdam-West

19:00 hours Once Dolly Parton said: ‘My weaknesses have always been food and men – in that order.’ Well, if you want to combine those two, start your evening with dinner at Panache.

21:30 hours And after dinner, you only have to move a few meters to digest at Café Panache with cocktails. And to take shots with the nice bartenders. #winning

23:30 hours To stay in the trend of new and hip in Amsterdam, you also drop by the Kanarie Club where you can enjoy gin tonics in a very Instagrammable location. Who said pool parties were only for summer? You can have them here all year round.

02:00 hours And from that pool party, you’ll head back to the classroom at De School. Dance, flirt, everything, until the sun smiles at you in the morning again.

Amsterdam-East/North

19:00 hours Dining is done at Louie Louie. Start your evening nice and easy with an eggplant taco (a personal favorite), some wines, and other Mexican aperitivos.

21:30 hours For drinks, we’ll pretend we’re in America and hope to bump into Douwe Bob at his bar The Fool Bar. Red sofas, jukeboxes, pool tables; you’ll have a good time here.

23:30 hours Going out in East and North is all about great highs and lows. By now it’s time to go up high and we start that at Canvas in the Volkshotel.

02:00 hours And from such great heights, it’s time for new lows. So hop on the ferry and head to the basement of the A’DAM Tower where your evening ends with techno at Shelter.
