WHAT TO DO THIS WEEKEND

By Theo Bakana

Do you have them yet? The spring jitters? No? That's funny, neither do I. Maybe because the weather has been quite disappointingly poor since the clock struck March. Jitters or not, meteorological spring has begun and the first weekend of March is just around the corner. Where can you go to celebrate this? Hop on my weekend wagon.

Paradisiacal oysters

You can celebrate the first spring days tonight at BAUT Paradijs. There you can enjoy oysters all evening for one euro (excuse my Hague accent). In adult language, this means that tonight at BAUT Paradijs there is an Oysterfest where you pay one euro for an oyster prepared in French, Asian, or South American style. Combined with a glass of bubbles, gin and tonic, and a DJ, this seems to me the perfect start to the weekend. Are you already rushing? The first oysters have just made their entrance.

Comic-Con

Spring often equals new. Fresh house, updated wardrobe, new life. For example, I can't wait for the lambs at the goat farm. And no, I'm not ashamed of that. But before I digress too much: new then. Because I wouldn't easily go to Comic-Con myself, but Every totally convinced me and I already have my costume ready. On Saturday and Sunday, you can go as your favorite fantasy hero to Rotterdam, where during the second edition of Comic-Con you can expect makeup tutorials, photoshoots, and Q&As. So if you're in the mood for a new experience, you know where to be this weekend. See you there? If you recognize me...

Fresh wardrobe

After such a new experience at Comic-Con, where you will probably get enough outfit inspiration, you can express this inspiration right away during one of the coolest pop-up sales this weekend. A very nice group Amsterdam girls has joined forces to provide you with a new look. On Saturday, you can stop by between 11 AM and 4 PM at one of the trendiest spots in Amsterdam: Café de Paris Let the spring begin!.

First festival of the year

This weekend also marks the unofficial kick-off of the festival season (yes, I have also eagerly started looking for my summer body). On Saturday, you can go to Het Rijk van de Keizer in Amsterdam where ZeeZout is organizing their

Winter Festival . Looking at the location, it promises to be a very cozy affair and regardless of winter or spring; the lineup ensures that you will definitely dance yourself warm. Sunday Sitdown.

Before you bravely face all the news of spring, it’s sometimes nice to reflect on the current situation. And before you tune out because I’m about to go on some tirade about living in the now, I’ll quickly tell you what it’s about. On Sunday, you can go to Pllek for a Sunday Sitdown of

Stardust . Besides space to philosophize about the ideal world, there are lectures, delicious food, and you can dance it all out to the music of various DJs. This way, you can reflect, dream, and philosophize, and you’ll gain a new experience. Did I hear a win-win?.

For all coffee lovers

We’re wrapping up this weekend with a preview of next weekend under the motto: a good start is half the work. Next week is The Amsterdam Coffee Festival. From Friday to Sunday, you can go to the Westergasterrein for latte art shows, espresso martinis, street food, and especially a lot of caffeine. And to kick off spring just right; we are giving away three pairs of tickets. So tag your favorite coffee date in the Facebook post and maybe the tickets will come your way.

Are you ready for all the news? I’m going to uncork the bottle to toast to the ‘spring’. See you next week and if you have a fun tip now, please send it to theo@amayzine.com.
