Actually, I wanted to type: ‘these are all the future Meryl Streeps of Hollywood’, but Meryl, pfff, she’s a force to be reckoned with, a true one of a kind that no one can match. But it’s clear that there’s a lot of talent in Hollywood, with a few names here and there that we definitely need to keep an eye on. Girls who have landed roles in popular Netflix series or in films that people think might win Oscars for example – and all at a very young age. So here they are, the pretty faces you will most likely see a lot of this year:

Saoirse Ronan

With a first name that is mispronounced about 9 out of 10 times, this Irish beauty is a talent that everyone should keep an eye on. At just 23 years old, she has already been around in the Hollywood scene for quite some time (she has appeared in The Lovely Bones, Atonement, and is featured in Ed Sheeran's Galway Girl music video), but it’s her role in the acclaimed film Lady Bird that marks her biggest breakthrough so far. She even won a Golden Globe for it last Sunday, and rumor has it that she might soon add an Oscar to her collection.

Ellie Bamber

You might be reading her name for the first time now, but if you are a fan of the film Nocturnal Animals by Tom Ford, then you will definitely recognize her face. After this year, you won’t forget her name either with a role in the film The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, where she appears alongside Keira Knightley.

Millie Bobby Brown

Only thirteen but already so beloved thanks to her role as Eleven in Stranger Things and also a lady we should definitely keep an eye on. She has not only proven that she can act well, but she is also well on her way to becoming a new style icon. Additionally, she is the face of Calvin Klein, has shown on Jimmy Fallon that she can rap, and even has Drake on speed dial. Not for a hotline bling, don’t worry, just as friends.

Katherine Langford

Better known to most as Hannah in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why and this year she is appearing in the new romcom called Love, Simon. The 21-year-old Aussie not only has a beautiful face for your screen, but thanks to her role in Netflix, she has also proven beyond a doubt that she has a bright future ahead in Hollywood.

Kathryn Newton

Pfff, already a CV that you can’t ignore. She has had a role in Big Little Lies which won quite a few Golden Globes last Sunday, but she is also seen in Lady Bird and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri; two films that will most likely win Oscars this year. And all this while she is only twenty years old. Kathryn, we are keeping an eye on you.

Letitia Wright

I recently discovered Black Mirror completely. For example, I wrote a piece about what we can expect from online dating if this series has anything to say about it. Another thing the team of the series is good at is casting actors. Letitia appears in the episode titled ‘Black Museum’, where she immediately shows that she is someone we will be seeing more of in Hollywood from now on. To start with, she is doing well by landing a role in the Avengers series: Infinity War, which will be released later this year.
