Netflix, what do you do now?

With new additions, older berries have to make way, we know that. But this removal alert on Netflix shakes us awake rather harshly. Our (normally) favorite streamer has suddenly removed Modern Family. Just, without announcement or heads up. Phil gone, Jay gone, Gloria gone, Claire and company gone, no Mitchell, no Cameron, no Lily or Manny. Wáárom would you do that, Netflix? Why?
Modern Family is a nice formula. It brought Al Bundy back, but in a somewhat less hand-in-the-pants way than in Married With Children. Gloria a.k.a. Sofia Vergara suddenly became the highest-paid actress in a series. You had the reassuring thought that Phil would mess things up again or that Cam would flip out. All of this happened in a manageable 22 minutes, making it not too bad if you said: just one more before bedtime. What is simply impossible with, I’m just mentioning something, La Casa de Papel, because there you are easily 55 whole minutes further along.
Let’s take a moment, because one to five has been erased. Finito, done. If you just happen to be ready for season 6, then you have both not-normal-amounts of luck and you need to hurry. Because our friends at Netflix give you until August 31 to binge this season. Whether the series will ever return is unknown. I mean: rapido, rapido and vamos, vamos, people. My apologies, I’m still a bit in La Casa de Papel vibes.
