RTL is coming out with a new dating show

You read that right, RTL is coming out with a new dating show. Not a new concept, as they have copied it from British television. It will be called 5 Guys A Week and Blue Circle is currently busy with the casting. This means that if you try a little, you might still squeeze in, should you want to find love on TV.
Side note: if a show like Love Island is more your cup of tea (a sunny destination might be a plus), that is also getting a new season – and they are still looking for candidates for that. Oh boys, it's going to be a steaming summer. Singles gather.
5 Guys A Week, the name says it all a bit: five men, one woman, one week. It resembles the American dating show Dating Around, which is on Netflix. There is one big difference and that is that in 5 Guys A Week the woman lives with the five men for a week. That seems quite intense to me. Now I only have a cohabitation contract with my cat (sounds like a sad bachelor existence but the arguments are minimal), so if suddenly five men were to show up at my doorstep, I would have to swallow hard. Because as RTL presented it, the men really move in with the one woman. No Airbnb, no hotel, no Big Brother house. I am very curious how that will fit and what kind of houses we will see pass by.
But well, living together for a week then. Not a week with all five, because one drops out each day. Until there is indeed one left. The program includes everyday things like cooking, tidying up, and cleaning of course, but also dates are on the schedule, as well as meeting the friends and family of the single lady. Sounds like quite an intense week. I also predict some clashes between the men. And who knows, maybe with the woman too: suddenly five men in your house, on your couch, in the bathroom, seems quite heavy for the overall atmosphere.
5 Guys A Week is an idea from Label1, which is also behind First Dates. Personally, I hope that RTL stays a bit true to that idea. What I like about First Dates is that the candidates are presented in a nice (and respectful) way and it’s not such a misery TV (mostly not anyway). And after the dra-ma-tic season of the last Temptation Island, I don’t know… Maybe the Netherlands is ready for classy dating shows? That would be something, right. I will definitely watch. With my cat.
