What? Jughead mist in the latest Riverdale trailer?

Ah, Riverdale, my ultimate guilty pleasure. The teen series that is the most unbelievable, but also – I think – the most addictive. Season 4 is finally coming out on October 10, and if you add up what has already happened in three seasons, it's quite a list. Last week I also said quite boldly that the cliffhanger of season 3, a missing Jughead, was nothing to worry about. Well, apparently I jinxed it a bit, because the trailer has just dropped and apparently we do have something to worry about.

Because, uh, Jughead is really missing. We see him in the trailer, but it turns out to be just flashbacks. The gang is of course busy looking for him (in a dark, deserted forest, where else?), but it can't be, right? No, I still can't imagine that the creators would actually let Juggie kick the bucket and that we only see him in flashbacks. I refuse to believe this, but I have become a little less sure of my case.

Furthermore, we see a lovesick Archie and Veronica a.k.a. Varchie in the trailer. That's fine, except that she was pretty much in love with Reggie the whole season 3. That seems to be officially a thing of the past and quite forgotten. Additionally, it is emphasized that they are now entering their senior year. Of high school, indeed. Understandable that they emphasize this again, because the creators probably realize that we viewers often forget that it's about a group of 17-year-olds.

Because my 17th year looked quite different. I wasn't sensually dancing half-naked on a stage at my own speakeasy (like Veronica does in the trailer), I hardly toasted with champagne (like we see all four of them doing – underage drinking apparently isn't such a big deal in Riverdale, which doesn't surprise me) and fortunately no one went missing.

Check the trailer below for yourself, where Betty also gets knocked out by the way. Well, life in Riverdale clearly isn't all roses. But I'm totally back in, you know. Did you miss it, far-from-my-bed-show Riverdale.
