Extremely good news: Modern Family is back on Netflix

All eight (!), I repeat: all eight seasons of Modern Family are now on Netflix. Jay, Gloria, Claire, Phil, Mitchell, and Cameron (hell yes Cameron) plus all the offspring: they are back. News that we can really use on this rainy Friday. Who cares about that gray weekend, just close those curtains, hide under the blanket with a bar of Tony’s and binge away.

Modern Family is the quick, light series that you can always enjoy in between. I say this at the risk of my own life: a kind of Friends, but funnier. Only our favorite streamer decided on August 8 last year (yes, it’s quite fresh in my memory, it was so painful) to kick the entire family off the service. Grandpa, grandchildren, pets, all of them. I was in shock because knowing that Phil Dunphy is always there to put me in a good mood is just a nice thing, so I needed a moment to recover from that.

But the time without Modern Family is finally over. You can indulge this weekend with seasons 1 to 8 and there’s more to come, because Jay and the gang have up to season 10 in the pipeline. The fact that the first batch is now on Netflix could mean that the streamer has rights again and they might have even more seasons in store. Hallelujah!
