Just in: fresh image of the new Vis a Vis

A bit confusing, because is it Vis a Vis: El Oasis now a real spin-off or can we just see it as a fifth season? And does it actually matter? Not really, because either way we get extra Vis a Vis and that is of course just a nice bonus. And if you are even a little bit of a Vis a Vis fan, then you already knew that El Oasis revolves around Macarena and Zulema. A somewhat older Macarena and Zulema, that’s true; twenty years into the future El Oasis goes and they clearly haven’t lost their criminal ways. Luckily.

The first images have just been released, which means we also have a glimpse of these twenty years older ladies. First impression: absolutely good. Unfortunately, they are (still) not moving images, but enough for that first impression AND enough that I am already tired of waiting. By the way, I find the photo where they are carefree relaxing on a beach bed the most interesting. Police too clever? No longer on the run? Bathing in luxury and cocktails maybe? Excited. Excited. Excited.

What we already know about this spin-off slash fifth season is that they plan to steal a tiara from the daughter of a Mexican drug lord. Look, that’s a watertight plan. It can hardly go wrong, you would think. So it will probably go well and we can enjoy eight episodes of that. There are worse things in life. Extra nice is that familiar faces Goya, Sandoval, and Román are also returning. To what extent is not yet known, unfortunately.

Then let’s end on a somewhat uncertain note… From Netflix there is still zero confirmation that they are going to air it. To be honest: I can’t imagine that they won’t. Vis a Vis is a huge hit on Netflix and guarantees a lot of viewers, so I would say: one and one is two and we will just get El Oasis immediately on the streaming service. But, some certainty would be nice. So what do you say, Netflix? Come on with that announcement.
