Lil's Badkamer Bekentenissen

Never thought I would ever become one, but damn it: I am a morning person. My morning mood has been upgraded from daily basis to annual ailment and I hit snooze on my alarm clock even more than twice (and believe me: that really means waking up very fresh and fruity for me). And now that I suddenly lose much less time procrastinating leaving my bed, there is enough time for a real morning ritual. So I start the day with queen Dr. Jetske Ultee and her super nice skincare line I trade the traffic jam for my bank to have a much healthier and more relaxed breakfast including granola and fresh fruit. I curl an extra strand here and there along my face which I finish off with a spray Arizona from Proenza Schouler through my hair and I even have three whole minutes left to casually brush my teeth on the Deep Clean mode of my Philips Sonicare toothbrush for an extra intensive cleaning. And okay, if I still have time left then I will honestly tell you that… You can read it in my bathroom confessions below.
What time do you get up?
With a workday planned, a concert of my ‘harp’ alarm tune starts promptly at half past seven. Although another kind of alarm with four legs and a grunting, dripping sound sometimes decides to wake up an hour earlier due to a very important visit to the dog park.
What is the first thing you do when you get out of bed?
Well, then we immediately end up back with that four-legged friend. Wishing Nola a veeeeeery good morning. And okay, if the boyfriend is not yet on his way, then he is definitely tied for first place with her.
Honestly, which step in your routine do you skip the easiest?
Washing my hair. I mean, why else does dry shampoo exist in combination with a quick pony wash under the sink?
How long do you spend in the bathroom?
From the moment I step out of the shower, it definitely takes another half hour, unless I decide to do my makeup in a horizontal position on the couch.
What do you do in the bathroom that no one knows?
Haha, when I go to the bath… Then I secretly take not only a coffee with me but also a pack of cookies or candies that I always secretly hide a little under a towel in case my boyfriend unexpectedly walks in. Well, charming is different, but it is enjoyable.
If this is not in my bathroom, then I panic…
If someone (I won't name names) has taken the last towel and hasn’t replenished it, causing me to have to run down past a rather open window, dripping and slipping, to fish a clean towel out of the dryer.
Bath or shower?
I think that if you are crazy enough to buy a ridiculously expensive bath pillow, receive an overload of bubbling bombs as a gift (and are also super happy with it) and check first in a hotel room whether it has a shower in the bathroom, you can guess the answer: baaaaaaad.
Shower together or alone?
Nice and alone, that is really my moment of the day to make a plan or wash away a shittie day. Sorry mister lover, you know I love you, but just not during my zen moment in the shower, moo-ha.
Washing your hair every day or a no-poo’er
Ooooh, I am trying so hard to wash less. And I must say: made possible by this dry shampoo it is really getting better and better.
Coffee or tea?
Coffee. Are there really people who wake up better from tea?
Electric or manual?
Electric. I was even so surprised that my boyfriend was still brushing by hand that I gave him a Philips Sonicare Diamond Clean for his birthday. Why am I such a fan of exactly this electric toothbrush? The brushing motion of the Philips Sonicare toothbrush is sonic, which means it goes back and forth faster than fast (read: up to 62,000 movements per minute!) for an extra clean feeling. Furthermore, I find it super nice to be able to choose between the five brushing modes, to be able to pay extra attention to, for example, sensitive gums one moment and treat yourself to an extra whitening boost at the next brushing session. I mean, it removes ten times more plaque than a manual toothbrush, so you understand: the birthday gift was quite well received. Oh, and with my other gift: a waterproof bluetooth speaker from JBL, this is the ultimate combination for your bathroom. Really, you should see us, ha-ha.
