Trailer Dirty John season 2 is out with release date

Very nice this, and I don't even mean that sarcastically. That second season of Dirty John was announced quite some time ago, but then it remained eerily quiet. Until now, because they just came out with a trailer AND a release date. And usually, when that release date is announced, the real waiting begins. What is very nice here is that the wait won't be long anymore: the entire season will be on Netflix on August 14. I have the feeling that August is going to be a really nice Netflix month.
Because read along, in the first two weeks of August we can expect this: Selling Sunset (YES), the new movie Work It from the same creators as The Kissing Booth and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, a new series for La Casa de Papel lovers: El Robo del Siglo and thus the second season of Dirty John. I am very happy with this. I already give August a 9, Netflix-wise.
Just like the first season of Dirty John, it is again about a true story: The Betty Broderick Story. We may not have heard much about it here, but in America, Betty Broderick was a big story. The one and only Oprah Winfrey even gave it attention on her show and called it one of ‘the worst divorces ever’. And yes, divorces can sometimes turn ugly... Or result in a double murder, as is the case here. Grim.
Betty (Amanda Peet) is married to Dan (Christian Slater), whom she supports through thick and thin while he struggles through his studies. Successfully, because he becomes a wealthy man in his field and they move to San Diego. There, he hires Linda as a new employee and from that moment on, everything actually goes wrong. That is of course to be expected: Dan has an affair with Linda and that is not taken very well by Betty... Understandably, but she goes quite far.
If you want to gain some prior knowledge: there is of course a lot to find online about this case. And honestly very interesting, because what a shitshow (pardon my French) this whole affair became. I found Dirty John season one entertaining, but not super thrilling. This trailer already looks much more promising and I find this story a lot grimmer. Mark my words: this will definitely surpass the first season.
