I watched Jaimie Vaes: In The Vaes Lane episode 3 and this is what I thought

Thursday Tempa day? No crazy, Thursday Jaimie Vaes day! Now it's a bit of a shame that this new addiction doesn't last almost an hour either, but with luck it hits the thirty minutes mark. Okay, and there is clearly a bit less sensational stuff happening than in Temptation Island, but otherwise it's just as addictive. And I don't know, Jaimie just had job interviews with potential nannies in this episode, so there's really a lot going on. So much that I want to talk about it again.
1. Aaah, aunt Koen is coming by again. Surprising. Well, not really; what else does he have to do in a day?
2. Delightful that Jaimie and Koen are pretending very hard that the camera isn't there and that Lío can't take his eyes off it and walks towards the camera without any shame. HIHI.
3. ‘Koen thinks there should really be more art in the house and Koen is really right.’ Koen might be right, but I guess you have to pay for it in the end.
4. This is the first art dealer who has more Gucci and Louis Vuitton bags (and Nike shoes — made of marble of course) than paintings.
5. But maybe my idea of art isn't up to date in 2021.
6. And the ultimate winner is a marble Chanel bag that I really don't see the point of; if you're going to spend so much money on a marble Chanel bag, why not just buy a real Chanel bag? Looks just as nice, looks exactly the same and is also more functional.
7. The whole pigeon release activity... Feels a bit unnecessary. You're getting married in Ibiza and these pigeons are in Amsterdam. They can't fly that far. And giving pigeons a round trip on a plane just for that seems like a bit of a pointless waste of money.
8. Although, pointless waste of money might just be their thing *thinks again of Lil Kleine throwing and tearing up money bills*.
9. Shopping for artworks is really the most decadent thing there is, actually.
10. Firstly because it's always done with a glass of wine in hand.
11. Secondly because no one sees anything in the painting in question but everyone still gives a certain kind of professional opinion about it, as if they understand it.
12. ‘The paint has tickled here a bit.’
13. ‘It just needs a little more lick.’
14. And then cheerfully clinking glasses to the purchase of a painting that apparently should have a horse on it.
15. ‘Business-wise, I'm not very well set up.’ I actually saw that coming when you seriously hesitated to almost voluntarily spend your money on a marble Chanel bag.
16. Aahh, the nannies are coming for an interview. Or as Koen puts it: ‘Le auditión du nanny.’
17. Well, the fact that Estelle genuinely sees a good-looking nanny as competition says a lot about her trust in the man.
18. ‘Do you have a boyfriend, or a relationship?’ Estelle finds that a relevant question in a job interview for a nanny.
19. And when she says that she does, Koen already loses interest.
20. ‘When do you have time to take care of Lío? She has a boyfriend, she has hobbies.’
21. SERIOUSLY, Koen — you might not believe it, but there are seriously people who have a job and also have a life full of hobbies and — it can't get crazier: love.
22. Fortunately, he admits himself that he would already be in a burnout when he thinks about it.
23. ‘The girl had going out as a hobby, there's nothing wrong with that, but that's not what I'm looking for as a babysitter for Lío.’
24. So, you get it: if you are an adult woman, single and preferably celibate, housebound and available 24/7? Then apply as a nanny for Lío.
25. ‘Dieuwertje plays the recorder, and as long as it stays with a wooden flute, that's perfectly fine.’ Okay, excuse: playing instruments is on the edge if you want this job.
Yaaa, and that was it again: the third episode of Jaimie Vaes. Did we learn a lot today? Ab-so-lutely not, but what a joy it is. And next week the Dubai adventure begins, so that's going to be a feast. House hunting in Dubai is on the agenda, a trip on camels, especially a lot of dining out and laughing at our plebs who were in lockdown in the Netherlands. A full schedule, so I'm curious if they can fit that into half an hour.
