Our prayers have been answered: Mr. Big returns in Sex and the City

Just a trip down memory lane. SATC fans had to brace themselves for a BIG disappointment, as Page Six wrote. Then it was actor Chris Noth (aka Mr. Big) himself who sarcastically responded with, ‘Well, if Page Six says it, it must be true,’ followed by a wink. It was exactly that wink that gave us hope.
And yes, that emoji with the half-closed eye was not just there for fun. Fresh off the press comes the news that many a SATC fan has been longing for: Mr. Big IS BACK and makes a comeback in the reboot. ‘I’m thrilled to be working with Chris again on And Just Like That,’ said executive producer Michael Patrick King in a statement. ‘How could we ever do a new chapter of the Sex and the City story without our Mr. Big?’
The only one we still need to make this party complete? Right: Samantha. Although we can probably forget that hope after all the grande catfights … ‘Samantha is not part of this story. But she will always be a part of us. Wherever we are or whatever we do,’ Sarah Jessica Parker recently wrote very politically correct on Instagram. Anyhow: Mr. Big is back in town and that alone is reason to celebrate. Although I’m meanwhile cracking up at critical fan reactions: ‘Carrie might’ve forgotten she was left at the NY Public Library altar BUT I HAVE NOT.’
Missed it? Here’s everything we know in a nutshell:
- The new Sex and the City series will be called ‘And Just Like That’ and revolves around the lives of 50-somethings Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte.
- The reboot will highlight the Covid-19 pandemic, but we don’t yet know exactly how.
- The series will consist of ten episodes of half an hour each.
- Oh and, John Corbett (also known as Aidan) will definitely return and play a prominent role in several episodes. Wait, will he reunite with Carrie? I. Want. To. Know. This. Now.
- Juicy detail: the ladies are all earning 1 million (!) dollars per episode. You do the math. Ten million in the pocket for this project. (Just imagine what’s going on that Kim Cattrall is not interested...)
- The official date of this spectacle is still pending, but knowing SATC: the world will know when they are ready… CAN'T WAIT!
