Mean Girls ontmoet John Tucker Must Die in Do Revenge

So, that was a while ago; a nice comedy is coming to Netflix again. At least, I hope so — the trailer looks good anyway. Camila Mendes takes the lead role and I've had a bit of a girl crush on her since Riverdale. It's a bit of a shame that she seems to be playing a character that resembles her Riverdale's Veronica Lodge quite a bit, but still. So far, it looks like a refreshingly fun movie. And honestly, we could use that, right?, after Senior Year?
As the title painfully states in bad grammatical English: revenge is being taken. And that's what the two girls Drea (Camila Mendes) and Eleanor (Maya Hawke) do. They both attend a fancy high school where Drea is living her dream life, as she is beautiful and popular. That changes when her soon-to-be ex-boyfriend leaks a private video of her and her world collapses.
Then she meets Eleanor, an outsider who was bullied quite a bit in the past. Their hatred for the two people who made their lives miserable is very binding, and then they come up with a plan: to ruin those two. Admittedly: not the most original story but just check the trailer: this is going to be fun. A touch of Mean Girls, a bit of John Tucker Must Die (I need to rewatch that soon because hello, how hot was Jesse Metcalfe in that) and from the pen of the same writer as Someone Great; a good mix for a feel-good movie.
Still have to wait a month, because it will be online on September 16.
