Wow: Kim Kardashian is unrecognizable on new cover
I have found the whole Kardashian and Jenner family fascinating for years. Whether it's the name of Kylie's son (which we still don't know), Khloé's surrogate or Kanye's tirades at Kim on Instagram, there's always something going on around this family. Never a dull moment. And I love that.
But Kim in particular has been fascinating to me lately. She went from a D-lister to Kanye's wife and a new style icon (thanks to Kanye, let's be honest), and suddenly there was their breakup and she got Pete Davidson as a rebound. And that period I find interesting: because Kim-with-Kanye is just a completely different person than Kim-with-Pete. Suppose there were a conspiracy theory going around saying that the real Kim had died for some mysterious reason and her clone or twin sister had taken over the post-Kanye era, I would believe that one hundred percent.
Let's start with skin color: the Kardashian family is often accused of ‘blackfishing’, that is, flaunting their black culture while it is not their own. I can somewhat relate to that, by the way. But after Kanye, there was nothing left of that, because Kim's skin color suddenly went about twenty shades lighter. She also lost many kilos, supposedly because she wanted to fit into Marilyn Monroe's dress for the Met Gala. That she had lost those kilos quite unhealthily through crash diets, she just accepted.
Kim is in any case retro proud (pun intended) of her new figure and is flaunting on the cover of the September issue of Interview Magazine. I. Have. So. Many. Questions. Especially that cover photo: why? Why does that butt have to be out? What does this add to the photo and why is she also wearing some kind of cup (worn in American football to protect male genitals) that has no back?
But Kim shares more photos, and I can honestly say that I don't recognize her. Just a moment of realization: this is the same woman who recently said in an interview that the only thing she had changed about her face was ‘a little bit of botox between the eyebrows’. I call bullshit. It is obvious that there has been some work done, and that is not just due to the bleached eyebrows.
