So fun: Love Island is coming out with a version for older people

Love Island for people over 40 is coming

Love Island has been back on Videoland since last week, but to be honest: it hasn't really captivated me yet. Every season, it's still a bit the same types who — to be fair — mainly want to become influencers instead of falling in love. And that's understandable, because how many people in their early twenties are really ready for their greatest true love? Very few. And when there's an older participant in the villa, they often don't click with all the younger participants. A vicious circle all around, and the only thing we are left with are influencers that we will see again on Instagram and TikTok.

No, just give me a show where people really want to find love. That has been scoring a lot better lately, right? B&B Vol Liefde is a huge success with real people who seriously want a relationship. Well, the makers of Love Island seem to have realized that too and are coming up with a variant for older people: from 40 years old you can participate. How fun.

The show will be called Your Mom, My Dad and indeed: it is an English program. For now, it will only be available on English TV (but Videoland, you are going to stream this too, right? Right?!). The approach is a bit different with Your Mom, My Dad: the kids of the participants will actually determine with whom they will form a duo. They are working behind the scenes on a serious couple action.

Fun detail: one of the reasons for the creation of this program is the criticism that Love Island receives. The participants of that show would not necessarily be a good reflection of the average person, but mostly exceptionally attractive people with perfect bodies. Amen.
