Whut: there are all kinds of actors participating in MAFS Australia

Well, wow. I am completely happy that Married At First Sight Australia has started again, but the first blow hits hard. Season 9 has started in Australia and it is a real treat again. Yes, you can stream it online, or you wait until Videoland undoubtedly picks it up again. The latter always takes a while and I am extremely bad at waiting. This has become my favorite show ever, so you understand that I was counting down the days.

And does MAFS deliver again? Well, so far it does. Until I came across the next article on Daily Mail and my bubble burst a little. What turns out? Seven (!) participants from this new season already have experience in the acting and/or reality world. Then you start to doubt whether they are just participating for the fame…

Because we are talking about about half of the participants who already have camera experience. For example, there’s 36-year-old Holly, who really wanted to find love, or is it just Instagram fame? In MAFS she said she was a cinema manager, but that turns out not to be true: she is a model and part-time actress. She appeared in the American TV series Timeless in 2017.

‘Italian’ Domenica Calarco (I haven’t heard her say a word of Italian yet, hence the quotation marks) is also no stranger to the TV world. She works as an influencer, model, YouTuber, and has a number of presenting jobs on her CV. Yes, Domenica, are you looking for love, or maybe something else?

Anthony, who hasn’t really hit it off with his wife this season, has also been in front of the camera before. He appeared in several commercials and even had roles in films. Whut? His wife, Selin (the Big Bad of the season) can still be found on various casting sites.

Almost namesake Selina Chhaur is perhaps the most famous, as she already participated in the reality series The Proposal. One Aaron Shaw (who previously participated in Love Island) proposed to her back then, but that relationship didn’t last.

The rest who already have camera experience were, for example, models in magazines and/or on TV. Well, I’m not quite sure yet if this will ruin my entire MAFS experience, probably not, but are all the participants really participating for love? Probably not either.
