Cleo & Bast book

As a mother, you can find yourself in such a book impasse. The Nijntje-and-Jip-and-Janneke era is long gone, but they are not yet ready for Harry Potter or Carry Slee. Exactly for that target group I wrote (by the way, it all started like this) Cleo and Bast: The Crazy Art Heist. The story is about two cats who live in a five-star hotel around the corner from the Eiffel Tower and Rue Saint-Honoré. They experience the craziest adventures: from the temperamental model with her outrageous demands who sets her hotel room on fire to the famous American singer who rents out the entire Louvre to shoot her music video. The common thread is a stolen painting that has been taken from the Louvre, and just leave it to Cleo and Bast and the colorful hotel staff to solve that problem.

I weave in all real stories from the fashion world and various moments that I experienced myself during the time I was editor-in-chief of Marie Claire and also regularly stayed at this hotel, Le Bristol. I myself am in love with the illustrations made by Sonia Menti, and what I hear from many women is that it is a fun book for both child and mother. And that just happens to have been my exact intention.

PS. Here you can see Le Bristol.
