This is what the second season of Monster will be about

Do we still remember, Evan Peters who took on the role of Jeffrey Dahmer — and how? Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story was a massive hit on Netflix, although not everyone was equally enthusiastic about it. Family members of victims indicated that they were not even informed by Netflix that this series was being made and many viewers felt that Dahmer was romanticized in this series. By the way, Peters did not agree with that last point at all, and I must say that I also did not really have the impression that Dahmer was romanticized. No, after watching this series, I was actually more certain than ever before that he was truly a major psychopath.

But well, as I said: a monster hit (sorry, I had to make that pun) on Netflix often means a second season, so it is with Monster. However, the story of Jeffrey Dahmer is finished and thus the second season will revolve around another murderer, and it has just been revealed who.

It would not be about one murderer but about two: Lyle and Erik Menendez. These two brothers were arrested after they brutally murdered their parents in 1989, in their home in Beverly Hills.

Netflix announced this with a small teaser, in which we hear the actual 911 call that Lyle Menendez made to the police. Netflix also states that the series will be available online in 2024.

You might think: how do they fill an entire season with one double murder? Well, because two trials were needed after the murder to get them behind bars AND because these murders were heavily covered in the media, especially since the brothers openly talked about the abuse they suffered daily.

So this will again not be a series that you can sit through lightly, but hopefully it is made and acted just as well as the first season.
