Shocking but true: you can now lose your virginity on television. As if marrying a stranger, exes on the beach, or dating an unknown person isn't crazy enough. The reality show Virgin Island from the Hulu network shows how virgins are going to make love for the first time.

So they are losing their virginity on television. A requirement to participate? That you can say with 100 percent certainty that you still have your V-card. That you are still a virgin. If you meet this requirement, you will be placed in a group of singles. The group will then battle for the perfect partner who can deflower them. The singles will go on romantic dates for ten episodes to see if ’the one’ might be among them. Currently, anyone from the US who is over 21 and a virgin can sign up for the show. The show will be filmed this summer and will likely be available to the public later this year or sometime next year.

There is currently some uproar about this series: is this not going too far? Using losing virginity as a way to get on television? Yet, according to the network, it is no joke. Applications are also pouring in.

Sorry, but I'm actually glad this isn't my first time. On television. For all of America and the rest of the world. What a time we live in, huh?
