High, bouncy hair à la Cindy Crawford
Blow-dry your hair upside down, change your parting, and the secret tip...

I believe it is also known as ‘just had sex hair’ or something along those lines. Voluminous, bouncy, healthy, high, and luscious hair. Hair that we saw on Miley Cyrus during the Grammys. Or at the Marc Jacobs show, where stylist Duffy teased all the models' hair to the heavens. And now we saw Kaia Gerber, the rarely well-favored daughter of Cindy Crawford, in St. Moritz with the perfectly blow-dried incredible I-want-that hair. Maybe it’s the inspiration from Priscilla Presley whose teased hair we saw in the movie Priscilla, although there was a bit less movement in it than in Kaia’s hairstyle. Anyway. Now the question is: how do we achieve this ourselves?
1. Eat well
What you eat affects your skin, but certainly also your hair. Lots of fish, eggs, vegetables, vitamin D, zinc... I had a pony and his coat shone more when he ate flaxseed and carrots alongside the kibble and hay. In that respect, we are not that different.
2. Use good products
Maybe an open door, but my hair has improved 180 degrees after I invested more in good shampoos. My favorite (and my daughters', as evidenced by the nearly empty jar I found in the shower this morning) is the Lavant Purifiant scrub from Christophe Robin. Leco is crazy about the latest line from Kérastase: Première. Get advice from your hairdresser, at a good perfumery, or at Skins Cosmetics.
3. Pay attention to how you wash
Not only is the shampoo important, but also how you wash. You should only apply shampoo to your scalp, while the conditioner should only go on the ends.
4. Blow-dry upside down
Want Crawfordian volume? Hang upside down while blow-drying until your hair is 80 percent dry. Then flip it back and curl it with a round brush.
5. Styling products
My tip: don’t use too much. That will weigh your hair down. When your hair is ‘damp’, so not soaking wet but not dry either, apply a styling product. I love the Volumising Mist with Rose Extract from Christophe Robin (it smells so good) and the Volumizing Spray Texture & Density from Sisley Rituel. Anyway, Sisley also has a lovely shampoo and conditioner.
6. Rollers
When your hair is dry and warm, roll in some old-fashioned Velcro rollers. Let your hair ‘steam’ on them.
7. The secret trick
Blow-dry while the hair is still on the rollers with cold air. This will set your hair.
8. And one more tip
Occasionally change your parting. If you always wear your hair in a right parting, try flipping it to the left or even back.
