You want to binge-watch this new thriller series with Javier Bardem
By Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.....

In need of a new series? I have one for you. Because if there is one series where everything is right, it's this one. The series Cape Fear is a new psychological thriller that you can now watch on Apple TV+. One that crawls nicely under your skin.
With a top top top cast including: Javier Bardem, Amy Adams, and Patrick Wilson in the lead roles. Plus Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg as executive producers attached to the series, it must be a success.
What is Cape Fear about?
Anna and Tom Bowden seem to have the perfect life. The successful lawyer couple lives with their two children in Savannah, Georgia, until Max Cady (Javier Bardem) returns after years of imprisonment. But he has a score to settle with the couple and slowly but surely makes it clear that he is not planning to let the past rest.
From that moment on, Cape Fear turns into a delightful and bizarre psychological game. Because, who can you still trust? And where does justice end and obsession begin?

A remake of an iconic thriller
Does the name Cape Fear sound familiar to you? That's right. Because the series is based on a thriller from 1991, also by Martin Scorsese. Then with Robert De Niro in the lead role, as the terrifying Max Cady. That film was also a remake of the classic of the same name from 1962, which was based on the novel The Executioners by John D. MacDonald.
But now there is Cape Fear 2026. The creators of this remake have deepened the characters and added new storylines. The result is a psychological thriller that, just like in 1991, slowly crawls under your skin again.
Javier Bardem is made for this role
When Javier Bardem is on the cast list, my attention is immediately drawn. My love for Javier started once with Vicky Cristina Barcelona (which by the way is also). What a wonderful top actor. Penélope Cruz His Max Cady role in Cape Fear is not loud or overly violent, but rather oppressively calm. Maybe that's what makes him so terrifying. Some critics even call it one of his best roles ever.
Javier Bardem plays his role with so much subtlety that a glance or a brief silence is sometimes enough to make you feel uncomfortable. Exactly that underlying tension makes Cape Fear so good.
An impressive cast.

Besides Javier Bardem, Amy Adams (you might know her from: Arrival, American Hustle, Enchanted, or Sharp Objects) plays Anna Bowden. Truly a top actress. Her character is intelligent, powerful, and at the same time really vulnerable when her carefully built life slowly starts to crumble.
And then, really genius, because for fans of the 1991 film, Juliette Lewis is also back in it (she even received an Oscar nomination at the age of 18 for her role as Danielle Bowden).
Juliette Lewis returns in Cape Fear 2026 with a rather special guest role.
A special collaboration that has lasted for 35 years.
Cape Fear is quite a special project for Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg. Their collaboration dates back to 1991. Originally, Spielberg was supposed to direct the remake of
Cape Fear and Scorsese was to work on Schindler’s List. But, in the end, the two film giants decided to swap projects. So, Spielberg made and Scorsese made his version of But, in the end, the two film giants decided to swap projects. So, Spielberg made Cape Fear, then with Robert De Niro in the lead role., And now, after more than 35 years, they are once again jointly responsible for Cape Fear. This time as executive producers of the series, it's wonderful to see those two names in the credits. According to creator Nick Antosca, they read along with the scripts, watched the episodes, and provided creative feedback during the making process. That makes this new adaptation perhaps even more special.
Why you want to see Cape Fear.

It's so much more than just a thriller. This is about power, guilt, obsessions, family, and the legitimate question of whether someone can ever truly escape their past. I love this so much.
And the series really takes the time to deepen the characters. So expect no fast action movie in series form, but a psychological thriller that slowly crawls under your skin.
