Things we love
Sushi-snack
Ask me what I want to eat and I will never give you rice as my answer. I’ll have a nice salad or a little bowl of pasta. Simply because rice always seems too much work to cook and prepare and I’m just not usually up for all that effort. Sushi on the other hand, well, that I can not get enough of. I’m not making it myself though. Now that is definitely too much hassle. Instead I have sushi on call sitting in my VIP list on my phone. It seems that I am not the only one with a deep love for sushi, because if there is an Amayzine HQ work night, then that little number on the VIP list is a standard go to. Yes we are very much in love with sushi.
I was recently in Singapore and I ate the most delicious sushi ever. Rice with a dollop of coconut, farm-fresh avocado and salmon. Really, yummier is just not possible. The fact that while there I was bombarded on every street corner with sushi, at one point it did became a bit too much, but hey, I was in Singapore, so I took every opportunity presented. It appears I had a favorite meal where I gobbled up every grain of rice. With my hands though, those chopsticks still need a little work.
Back in the Netherlands, I’m sure you understand that I wanted to order sushi straight away to give into my homesickness. But what a sad a state of affairs for me that was. It was like taking a cold sushi shower. Tough and dry and completely not up to my new standard. Yes, by default I need to talk in standards. After Singapore and the quality of their ‘sushi-snack’ there is just no going back. At least not in my opinion. Who, oh who can help me source the most delicious sushi addresses? I’d love to hear from you to help me get through my work evenings and I will try to make do until my next trip to Singapore.
