THE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

May-Britt and Elke have already taken you on an incredible journey through New York Fashion Week. They run from show to show, peeking backstage in between or diving into a store that you can't miss, and they keep you here and here informed. And here I am, neatly behind my desk, trying to stay as up to date as possible when it comes to beauty. Because I do know that Victoria Beckham had models with blue eyes and that Alexander Wang once again has won the trophy for the coolest beauty look.

So if you also want to make a huge impression with the latest looks, want to prepare yourself for the beauty looks of next spring, and want to throw some items into your basket or just want to be updated, then check out the trends below. I have listed the seven most striking and coolest beauty trends from New York Fashion Week for you.

1. The pale lip

Where last year you saw extremely finely painted lips, now it's completely nothing. Not even a balm to create some shine on the lips. The only thing that can be done is a bit of foundation to make the lip just a little bit paler. And it doesn't matter at all if it's a bit smudged, because even that walked the runway. Going out without lipstick? That fact is definitely very passé.

2. The natural brow

The brow was a real thing in beauty land and we've seen them in quite a few variations. Bleached, heavily defined, a layer of glitter, or just very thin. Well, this year absolutely nothing is happening with them and they are extremely natural. At most, you can run a comb through them, but you don't need to fill them in, set them with gel, or maintain them with tweezing. All not necessary.

3. A completely bare face

The looks are all more naked than naked. Taking the above trends into account (no colored lip, no done brow), the rest is also really completely bare. At the Lacoste show, the models didn't even have foundation on their faces. So easy, that no-nonsense look.

4. The smudged natural smokey

Hell yeah, the smokey is making a comeback in beauty land. A natural smokey with brown tones, mind you, where the eyeliner can be black and also a bit smudged. Incredibly chic, and not just nice for a party. This look can easily go from 9 to 5.

5. The smudged lip

At the Michael Costello show, you saw that lipstick can be far from perfect The color can be a bit smudged because you might have been sipping from a cocktail glass first. The outside can be darker than the inside, which almost approaches the natural lip color.

6. Glitters

This New York Fashion Week edition is already known for all the glitter. Glitter above the upper lip, glitter on the ear, a line of glitter under the eyebrow, and some glitter as eyeliner. Name it and there can be a lot of glittering. However, everything is done in a precise manner. So not just sprinkled over the face, but in neat lines and perfectly placed.

7. Intense eyeshadow and color

Victoria Beckham kept the base très naturel. Thin foundation, well-groomed eyebrows, and just a little balm on the lip. Only those eyes, they were anything but natural. A strong color blue was applied there. With precision and in graphic shapes. And a little glitter also peeked around the corner here and there.

P.S.: This was all up to now, huh. Up to now. Because New York Fashion Week still has so much more to offer. Keep you posted.
