THE TOP 5 MOVIES OF THE EDITORS

Now I may be the editor of our group that you encounter a bit more often in the cinema or behind my laptop with Netflix, but that doesn't mean my lovely colleagues don't also occasionally find themselves on the couch with a bowl of popcorn (or in Simoon's case with some raw vegetables and hummus) watching a movie. Romantic comedies, travel films, foreign films – we all actually enjoy a mix of everything. So if you're looking for some inspiration for what to watch tonight, here are the favorites of your Amayzine-Friends:

Lilian

Yes, our Lil is a sucker for delightful escapist romcom movies. In the category of love stories, everything by Nicholas Sparks does really well, but Lil always goes for Safe Haven. Not too complicated, but with a nice story and a surprising ending.

Simone

Actually, you must read the book first before you watch this. But I totally understand why Simone is a fan of Into the Wild. It's the true story of a man who sets aside his glorious future, donates all the money he has to Oxfam Novib, and travels the world as a vagabond. It's the story of all the life lessons he learns along the road. With one important conclusion at the end that's worth watching it for...

Kiki

This is one of those movies that I have to watch every time I come across it while channel surfing. So Kiek, I’m with you; it’s definitely a must-see that everyone should have seen: The Shawshank Redemption. And if you don’t believe Kiki, you’ll also find it in the top spot of best movies on IMDb. It actually fits nicely into the list of man movies that women also enjoy, so that date night with your boy will definitely be a success.

May-Britt

Movie tip from May: La Meglio Gioventù. You have to see it because a. the man from May's sex bucket list is in it and b. it’s a mix of the history of Italy (from about 1966 to 2003) with that of a beautiful family and also shows what kind of influence political unrest in a country can have on a family. By the way, just a note: the movie lasts about six hours, so plan a full Sunday for it.

Every

In the past, I had the habit of going to a foreign film about once a month with a friend or my sister Merel. A few years ago, that was the French film Les Petits Mouchoirs. I mention a Marion Cotillard who plays in it, a François Cluzet that you probably know from the film Intouchables (also a tip, in case you haven't seen it yet). The story revolves around a group of friends who all go on vacation together, but everyone has a hidden secret that obviously comes to light... Not only a good movie, but also if you want to spice up your French again, I recommend watching more French-language films.
