Humberto Tan speaks for the first time about marital crisis

Humberto Tan has been under fire for a long time because he allegedly had an affair with Dionne Stax. In ‘Where is De Mol?’ he is open about that turbulent time in his life.

He talks about the marital problems and the fact that this actually brought him closer to his wife Ineke. ‘A lot has happened, yes. At first, I wanted to talk to everyone, but then I thought: you have to know what you want to say. And what is going on at all. And if you don't even know that yourself, what are you going to say? But later the story took on a life of its own…’

Despite everything that was said about them from the outside, they are still together. ‘The harder they kicked from the outside, the closer we actually became in one way or another. But it could have gone the other way too. That it would have completely fallen apart. But that didn't happen. And that is very special. That is really valuable.’

‘It hasn't been fun. Not at home, not for me, not for the children, not for Ineke, not for anyone. It was a year full of lessons and humility. It was absolutely not nice. I was so vulnerable. But apparently, that's part of it too.’ Besides the fact that things were going less well privately for Humberto, he also lost his job at RTL Late Night.

To presenter Johnny de Mol he is open about what he had to do for his marriage. He finds that logical. He admits that his behavior cannot exactly be excused. ‘You don't get a prize for it, no.
