Friends is coming with a special cinema film to celebrate its 25th anniversary

A still from the series Friends where they are all sitting at the table

So, just a little confrontation with my age. Friends is twenty-five years old this year. A quarter of a century. I don't know, but reading that suddenly makes me feel really old. Fortunately, Comedy Central is still faithfully airing all the reruns and they are of course also available on Netflix. Admittedly: not every storyline stands the test of time (the marriage between Carol and Susan or how they dealt with Chandler's father, for example), but I can also keep watching this series non-stop. I think I could do that for another twenty-five years.

For a long time, actually since the series ended in 2004, there has been a lot of speculation about a movie. And now we finally get what we've been asking for so long. Well, it's not really a movie, but it is a must-see if you're even a little bit of a Friends fan. Friends 25: The One With The Anniversary will be released worldwide on October 20, and it will also be shown in cinemas in the Netherlands. Just make sure to check where it's playing (because you definitely want to see it), the cinema chain Vue will be screening it.

The ‘film’ consists of some of the best episodes, never-before-seen footage, and interviews with the cast. I'm very curious about which episodes these are. Will we finally get an answer during the interviews about whether Ross and Rachel were really on a break? I'm also curious if Matthew Perry will be seen in the interviews, because my heart broke a little when I saw photos of how he looks these days. Little about more of the Chan-Chan Man.

As I said: a bit of a Friends fan will definitely want to catch this in the cinema, so make sure to get your tickets on time. (https://www.vuecinemas.nl) I'm afraid we will never get that real movie, so let's just enjoy this as much as possible. One extra tip: also download the Friends 25 app, with fun trivia facts, but also filters like Joey's blue Ichiban lipstick (yes, you want that). And one last free tip: if you're in New York soon, there's still a Friends pop-up café to be found at 76 Mercer Street until October 6. So, drink coffee in Central Perk.
