The creators of La Casa De Papel have announced a new series

La casa de papel crew on the red carpet

That Spanish-language series are doing well on Netflix is probably no news anymore. The trend started a bit with La Casa De Papel if you ask me, and that train will keep rolling for a while with series like Vis a Vis, both available on Netflix, both medium to heavily addictive, and thus both Spanish. If you agree with this, you are probably very happy with this news: these forces are being combined into one new series. Yes, indeed.

Creator Alex Pina (of La Casa De Papel) is going to bring a new series to the Netflix market together with Esther Martínez Lobato (Vis a Vis). Sky Rojo will be the name of this new guarantee for addiction and some details about the series are already known. It revolves around three prostitutes who go on the run after they have had a night out at a strip club and have seriously beaten up a pimp. Not very smart, so they decide to flee.

The first season follows these three ladies during their road trip to stay out of the hands of la policia. I indeed say first season, because if I may believe the rumors, two seasons of the series have already been ordered. Love it, a little gas on that lollipop. There are no similarities with La Casa De Papel, nor with Vis a Vis (unless they get caught, of course), but I bet Sky Rojo will be quite thrilling. I am curious where this series will take place, as the three women are reportedly Argentine, Spanish, and Cuban.

What else is known? Each season will consist of eight episodes, each around 25 minutes long. I find that quite nice, because as fun as all those series are, taking over an hour for one episode every time is not really good for me. And my social life. And my sleep. Watching a 25-minute episode in between is much better. Okay, so I am already a fan. The only downside is that they have only been filming for two weeks now, so we will have to wait at least another month or two until the release. Until then, how about The Irishman, then? That lasts about three and a half hours, so it counts a bit as a full season of any random series. A fine substitute if you ask me.
