These are the best true crime documentaries of the past year

Yes, if there's one thing I'm happy about, it's the rising popularity of true crime documentaries. I've been a true crime fan for years, but I've always been a little bit ashamed of it. It's not exactly a charming hobby, and even though the documentaries are now incredibly popular, I wouldn't want to mention it on a first date. But luckily, dating during the corona era wasn't really an option, so it was much easier to just watch a ton of true crime series from the couch. Hopsakee.

Because this year, quite a few really nice ones have been released, especially by Netflix. It's high time to list them, I think. Here are the coolest true crime docs you can find on the internet.

1. The Ripper
2. Unsolved Mysteries
3. Don’t F*ck With Cats
4. The Confession Tapes
5. Murder to Mercy
6. The Confession Killer
7. Carmel
8. The Innocence Files
9. Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich
10. Tiger King

Have you seen all of these? Alright, let's keep going. These are not from this year, but they are definitely worth watching.

1. The Staircase
2. Dear Zachary (just a sincere warning: you will never cry as hard about anything as you will about this. It is truly heartbreaking.)
3. Unabomber
4. Natascha Kampusch
5. Abducted in Plain Sight
6. The Devil Next Door
7. Amanda Knox
8. I Love You, Now Die
9. The Jinx
10. The Imposter
11. There’s Something Wrong With Aunt Diane
12. Making A Murderer
13. The Central Park Five
14. Mommy Dead and Dearest
15. Audrie & Daisy
