It's almost time. In two weeks, I will close the front door behind me to leave for Greece for two months. And with a bit of luck, this will be the start of a longer tradition. In any case, I want to check off these three Greek islands in 2025 Islands you immediately want to emigrate to – or at least book your next vacation or workation to. 1. Chania on Crete Do you think of beach vacations and mass tourism when you think of Crete? Then you don't know Chania yet. This city is a paradise for food lovers: the most culinary city of Crete is filled with top dishes, nice coffee spots with good wifi, and a vibrant life thanks to the university. Here, you don't eat a croissant for breakfast, but a freshly baked spanakopita. And that every day. What makes Chania truly unique: it's wonderful to live and work here all year round. From January to December. So if you're thinking of emigrating to one of the best Greek islands of 2025, definitely add Chania to your list. 2. Rhodes: always a good idea Small warning: you might just run into me on this island. Rhodes is my annual staple, and this year it is my base for the summer. The island combines the relaxation of island life with the amenities of a city. There is a vibrant nightlife, fantastic restaurants, and plenty of opportunities for remote work with 5G and excellent wifi. Rhodes is big enough to never get bored, yet cozy. Be sure to explore the southern part of the island for the real Greek life. Rhodes absolutely deserves its place among the top Greek islands for emigration in 2025. 3. Andros: white house, blue roof, sea view Somewhat less known than Crete or Rhodes, but just as enchanting. Andros is only an hour and a half by boat from Athens, and combines the best of both worlds: sunny island life and the cosmopolitan life of the capital within reach. Artists have long discovered this place – and soon you will too. You hardly find tourists here. You live among the locals, and with 160 kilometers of hiking trails, you will know what to do in your free time. A dream place for those who really want to emigrate to a Greek island in 2025.
