Let's get to know: the new couples of MAFS

Ooooh, what a rollercoaster that is Married at First Sight Australia though. Not. To. DO. I really had to get used to the couples from season 7, but in the end, it was just a huge enjoyment again? That delightful burn from Mishel to Steve (and rightly so, fool), I have been a fan of Connie throughout all the episodes, but there was of course also a lot of drama. Hayley and David, or the worst match in the history of ever, and Stacey and Michael. Is there a couple that survives who are as toxic to each other as they are? If I am to believe the latest gossip, they are back together and Michael has made a detour to KC in the meantime. They have both cheated, so I really don't get it: what do those two have with each other?

I really have very little time to think about it by the way, because the new season has already started. Or well, new... It has become season 5. So we went from 6, to 7, to 5. Totally fine. But that also means we have to get acquainted with all sorts of new couples again, and is there enough drama? Well, I have already spoiled myself a bit on the internet and I can at least tell you that the answer to the last question is ‘yes’. Okay, one more little spoiler: there will be a number of couple swaps this season. YES. Bring on tha dramaaaa.

But okay, it is definitely high time for a round of introductions. And here and there some predictions of course. I will try not to reveal too much, but in all my enthusiasm I can't promise that.

Sarah and Telv
Yes, SEE, I actually want to start with a spoiler here. I hold myself back, I hold myself back. These two seem to be doing quite well, although I suspect they are both two DQID: Drama Queens in Disguise.

Tracey and Dean
Here comes troubleeee. And not even from her side, we need to keep an eye on him. Sly fox. This is definitely going to be fireworks.

Ryan and Davina
Guess: these will be the Jessika and the Stacey of to wear this season. Or if you were to watch in chronological order, she would be their predecessor. If you ask me, also quite a mismatch, but that's nothing new in this program of course.

Mat and Alycia
Aaahh, this can't be anything other than them becoming the Cam and Jules of season 5? Yes sorry, I clearly stereotype every couple with the other seasons, but you need the bad guys and the good guys in every season. I see these two as the good guys.

Jo and Sean
Pay attention: this season there are two Seans. That's going to be confusing. I actually find them a bit boring, but maybe that will change.

Blair and Sean 2
The two Seans fortunately don't resemble each other at all, so that's a relief. What they do have in common is that I don't find this couple very sparkling yet... Prediction: they definitely won't make it to the finish line.

Carly and Justin
I think this couple matches quite well at first glance. They also genuinely look very happy in their wedding photos, so that's already a plus.

Charlene and Patrick
I also think this couple looks quite picture perfect, they will definitely make it to the finish line. They might not provide the most exciting TV, but it's cute.

Melissa and John
Lizzie was not the first to give the ‘experiment’ another chance, John was already seen earlier. With little success of course, because now he gave his yes again. Will it be love this time? I have my doubts.

Troy and Ashley
Aaahh, the princess of the season. Can't be otherwise, right? Maybe they look good in the photo, but I really have zero confidence in this. That has become a recurring thing: I have confidence in almost no couple. In that respect, MAFS is not doing so well for my romantic mindset.

Nasser and Gabrielle
Here I hope it will work out, but again I am feeling negative. Will there even be people staying together from this season? I will look up how many people from all seasons are still together later. I guess... Two. Maximum.

Yes, you read that right: ELEVEN couples. Hallelujah, I understand why they can make a work week full of episodes with so many people.

What I find interesting to notice is that I have NEVER made a good assessment regarding these couples, not even in season 7 and 6. You don't always see coming who will cause all the drama (okay, with Ines and Jessika that was very clear). Very clear). Only at the first dinner party do the true selves start to come out a bit and that is always the part that becomes really fun for me. Yes, sorry, I am simple: I mainly watch for all the drama.
