AMAYZINES 5 best city trips for sisters
With all our self-tested restaurants, shops, and hotels

You both have busy work schedules and your own friends, but every now and then you have an intense sisterly need, so at least once a year there must be a sisters' weekend on the agenda. Ingredients are boutique hotels, nice restaurants (no menus with photos), and if possible, nice weather or at least an inspiring city.
1. Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is paradise. You find everything there: luxury boutiques, small cafes, and the city and the sea close by. Start your shopping adventure on Passeig de Gràcia, where you find Chanel and Louis Vuitton, and then explore the shops in El Born.
If I could live in a city, it could very well be Barcelona. I was there three years ago when my daughter finished high school and stayed at Sir Victor Hotel, which was amazing (named after a female writer who had to use Victor as a pseudonym because women at that time were not allowed to publish books. The library is filled with only books by female writers or about brave women). Anyway, I also gathered some unique Barcelona tips.
Eating in Barcelona is a feast. Try Cal Pep in El Born for authentic tapas. And here are more of our favorite restaurants in Barcelona.
2. Paris, France
Paris is always a good idea. In Le Marais, you find a bit more independent designers, vintage shops, and chic cafes. In Rue Saint-Honoré, you find all the top designers, but especially on the left bank, you find nice galleries and the slightly more creative labels. And of course, you walk via Rue de Rennes to Le Bon Marché.
And if I may give you a tip, don't forget to visit the most beautiful little street in Paris. By the way, these are our favorite restaurants in Paris.
3. Milan, Italy
Milan is the fashion capital of Italy and offers countless shopping opportunities. From the luxury stores on Via Montenapoleone to the trendy boutiques in the Brera district; there is something for everyone. Also visit Corso Como 10, our favorite address, for a unique combination of fashion, art, and culture.
If you want to treat yourselves to a nice hotel in the center, I would say: stay here. And definitely include the brunch on Sunday morning. If it's good enough for all the guests of Dolce & Gabbana and the Milanese chic, then you can hold out too.
These are our favorite spots in Milan to eat.
4. Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon combines old charm with modern flair and offers great shopping opportunities. Visit the Chiado district for elegant boutiques and the LX Factory for trendy, independent shops and cafes. Our Kiki went there earlier and shares all her sleeping, eating, and shopping addresses here with you.
These are the favorite restaurants there from our colleagues at FavorFlav.
5. Amsterdam, Netherlands
And what about our own Amsterdam? Sometimes it's so nice to see your own country through the eyes of a tourist. Maybe you haven't been to the Rijksmuseum in a long time. And how fun is it to rent a boat and sail through the canals and then maybe have a picnic in Vondelpark?
Here you will find an overview of the coziest restaurants. You know how to find the nice hotels, but a small and original tip is this hotel.
I would say: grab those agendas now and book a weekend of sisterly happiness.
