HOW SHOULD WE NORMAL WOMEN DEAL WITH
the Victoria’s Secret show?
Everyone with an internet connection and a heartbeat has heard that the Victoria’s Secret show took place last night in London. The most beautiful women in the world paraded their perfect bodies over a glitter-strewn catwalk while Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande sang to them in front of thousands of cameras. In the Netherlands, the show will be broadcast on December 15th but the photos and Instagram videos are of course already visible and that can sometimes have a varying effect on self-image. This year I won’t be sitting in front of the TV on the 15th because I have other plans, but I can still remember that I watched last year and with every minute.
the love and acceptance for and of my own body became less and less. Those bodies, how can you as a woman look at them and not fall off your chair from self-pity? For me, it often makes me start making plans to go to the gym like crazy, to find a new trainer, , to never eat again or I don’t know what but in any case, SOMETHING., What I then don’t execute. I just can’t get into the habit of exercising and I’m way too much of a sucker for cookies and candy and other scary things like carbohydrates that I never really stick to a diet for long. And then you get a kind of strange internal conflict because on the one hand I am.
very driven and motivated to get that body but on the other hand I can’t get that body moving to become that way. That leads to disappointment and if there’s anything demotivating, it’s that, and it just gets worse. I just can’t get into the habit of exercising and I’m way too much of a sucker for cookies and candy and other scary things like carbohydrates that I never really stick to a diet for long.
Anyone looking at photos from the Victoria’s Secret show must remember that despite it seeming like those girls are beings created by the hand of God himself, those bodies are what they are because the Angels train like crazy and haven’t touched a carbohydrate or sugar for months. There’s an army of dietitians, trainers, spray tanners,.
hair extensions, and makeup artists ready to make them as beautiful and stunning as they are. In the months and weeks leading up to the show, the pressure is increased, training two to three times a DAY, eating only steamed vegetables with occasionally some white fish ( of course cooked in coconut oil) and alcohol is avoided like the plague. Those bodies don’t just fall from the sky,.
they are worked hard for, . Modeling is top sport – just to throw that cliché in again. We ordinary folks will never get that body by sitting on the couch and even if we went to the gym three times a week, it’s still not the same. And then you have to ask yourself if you even want that. As a man, there’s no fun in going out with someone like that because. enjoying good food and a glass of wine is of course out of the question. Besides, I once saw a nice guy tweet that such a toned chick wouldn’t be for him because “a woman should be a bit soft.” We ordinary folks will never get that body by sitting on the couch and even if we went to the gym three times a week, it’s still not the same.“
Anyway, all of the above is of course also a nice excuse that you can keep telling yourself to not go to the gym and to take that extra slice of pizza. But you know what, just do it,.
who cares., The angels are nice to look at but maybe less nice to be because let’s be honest, what would you rather do,. train three times a day, with your trainer or go out to eat three times a week with friends? I mean. Everyone with an internet connection and a heartbeat has heard that the Victoria’s Secret show took place last night in London. The most beautiful women of….
