The Odyssey
You’ve probably heard of Odysseus, the king of Ithaca who takes ten years to return home after the Trojan War. Along the way, he battles gods, monsters like Polyphemus, Scylla, and Charybdis, and sorceresses like Circe and Calypso. At home, suitors are circling around his wife Penelope, and his son Telemachus is searching for answers. It can't get crazier than that, and Nolan is making a three-hour film out of it.
The cast: Matt Damon (Odysseus), Anne Hathaway (Penelope), Tom Holland (Telemachus), Zendaya (Athena), Robert Pattinson (Antinous), Charlize Theron (Calypso), Samantha Morton (Circe), and Lupita Nyong’o (Helena/Clytaemnestra). Also featuring Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, Mia Goth, Elliot Page, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, and Travis Scott.
Making the film: 91 shooting days in Morocco, Greece, Italy, Iceland, Scotland, and the USA, with real ships in the Mediterranean and about 1,200 extras in the big scenes. The camera is by Dutch Hoyte van Hoytema, marking his fifth collaboration with Nolan. And boat specialist Klaas Post from Urk provided the speedboats, which we are honestly quite proud of.

Series everyone is talking about
Off Campus
Hannah Wells and hockey player Garrett Graham strike a deal that grows into more. Our reviewer calls it delightful binge material that you can watch in one weekend: not complicated, but it doesn’t have to be. So addictive that she almost ordered the books.
Is there going to be a season 2? Prime Video greenlit it even before season 1 was released (premiere May 13, 2026). The focus shifts to Allie Hayes and Dean Di Laurentis. Grace Ivers (India Fowler) is introduced, Phillipa Soo (Hamilton) plays theater director Scarlett, and Justin Kohl will not return. There is no official date yet; spring 2027 is speculation.

Sterling Point
A 17-year-old New Yorker inherits a Canadian island after the death of her estranged grandfather. She searches for family secrets and ends up in a love triangle. The series is a hit because the teenagers sound real without forced Gen Z jargon, and because it stays warm instead of dark. Creator Megan Park (My Old Ass, The Fallout) says she sees much more in this world.
Season 2? Not yet renewed by Prime Video. The series started on August 5, 2026. With multiple cliffhangers and an enthusiastic creator, the chances are good, but there is no date yet.

I Will Find You
David Burroughs is serving a life sentence for the murder of his son until someone claims his child is still alive. The series was number 1, but our reviewer Danielle Heerkens found it absurd and unbelievable: weak acting, increasingly crazy plot twists, and dialogues like from a bad soap. Still, she calls Coben series fast-food thrillers: not good, but addictive.

Every After Year
A 28-year-old woman returns to her coastal town after ten years for a funeral and must confront her past and her ex-best friend. Not a sugary teen romance, but a realistic drama about guilt and missed opportunities.

The Shards
Los Angeles, 1981: wealthy teenager Bret becomes suspicious of newcomer Robert while a serial killer terrorizes the city. Gossip Girl drama meets serial killer suspense, with beautiful 80s styling. Igby Rigney, Kaia Gerber, and Homer Gere star.

Elle (Legally Blonde prequel)
Stunning to see and Lexi Minetree is good, but according to reviewer Laudonne Roos, the prequel doesn’t fit: Elle undergoes the development in Seattle that happens in the film only at Harvard. Her conclusion: not season two, but immediately set up Legally Blonde.

Icebreaker and the hockey series
Why are we suddenly so in love with hockey? Heated Rivalry and Off Campus are hits and Netflix is making a series out of Hannah Grace’s BookTok hit Icebreaker. The game is fast (skaters go faster than 30 km/h) and the arena is small, making everything feel intense. Plus the ‘boy aquarium’ effect on TikTok.
