MAFS Australia: how does it work?
In Married at First Sight (MAFS), participants marry a stranger chosen for them by experts. Then comes the experiment: at the final vows, they choose whether to continue together or not. The Australian format is one of the most read reality shows here. The 2026 season is season 13, and season 14 is scheduled for 2027.
MAFS Australia 2026: who is still together?
Short answer: almost no one. Of the five couples, only one remained after the finale. That says a lot about this season. Below you can see how things stand.

The reunion: all the arguments
The biggest drama came at the reunion. It became clear that the contact between Steph and Danny had become public after the experiment. Bec reacted very fiercely, Danny stormed out of the dinner in anger and later blocked Steph backstage. Rachel and Steven were told by the experts that Steven was ‘stringing Rachel along’. And Gia admitted that she and Bec were the ‘biggest instigators of drama’.

What happened next

Stella and Filip: from engaged to broken up
Stella and Filip were the love story of the season. They stayed together after the finale, chose Croatia for their wedding, and yet it is over. According to insiders, Filip ended the relationship due to differing expectations for the future, with work distance, money, and lifestyle as factors. Stella wrote on Instagram: ‘Sometimes they experience pressure. Sometimes they experience control.’

MAFS Australia 2027: these are the ten couples
Filming for season 14 has started in Sydney. Channel Nine expects to air it in February 2027, with no date yet known for the Netherlands. John Aiken and Alessandra Rampolla return to the expert panel and are joined by Dr. Lurve (Brigitte Zonta). Notably, for the first time since 2020, there is a female couple.

The MAFS experts
Mel Schilling
Mel Schilling had been a regular expert since season four (2017) of MAFS Australia and also worked on the British version since 2021. She was known for her calm, warm, and empathetic approach. Mel passed away in March 2026 from complications of bowel cancer. She left behind her husband Gareth and daughter Maddie.

Brigitte Zonta (Dr. Lurve)
Brigitte Zonta is an Australian psychologist and relationship coach, known in the field as Dr. Lurve. She studied coaching psychology at the University of Sydney and is trained in the Gottman method for relationship therapy. Since season 14, she has joined John Aiken and Alessandra Rampolla. The creators say she does not take Mel's place but brings her own voice and energy.

Love is Blind: Netherlands
The format is now well-known: singles date in separate pods, talk only to each other, and must be engaged before they meet. In the Dutch version on Netflix, thirty singles participate, fifteen women and fifteen men aged between 26 and 34. Nicolette van Dam and Bas Smit host.

Harry Jowsey (29) is known from Heartbreak Island, Too Hot to Handle, and Perfect Match. In his own show, he is looking for a bride and chooses Amber Mozo in the finale. Two months later, it’s already over. Harry says they decided together to part ways on their honeymoon in Australia. Amber thought they were still together. At the reunion, she threw her wedding ring at him.
